(PRWEB) August 10, 2007 -- Piribo, the online destination for business intelligence for the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, has now added a new report on the latest forecasts in the world pharmaceutical packaging industry.

"World Pharmaceutical Packaging to 2009" finds that the world demand for pharmaceutical packaging is likely to see an annual 5.9 % growth to touch the $ 34 billion mark in four years.

China will offer the strongest growth opportunities for the sector, because of its swiftly expanding pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity. The Chinese government has helped bolster the production of nationally produced medicines by initiating a government programme designed to improve their quality.

India and Brazil are tipped to be rapid growth markets as well, because these countries are developing and diversifying their drug-manufacturing sectors especially in the generic drugs segment.

Authors of the report say that prefillable syringes and prefillable inhalers will generate the most rapid growth of all pharmaceutical packaging products. Their high performance is linked to drug delivery improving significantly with their use. But improvements in design, low costs, versatility and availability will ensure that plastic bottles retain the largest share of global demand. Pharmaceutical blister packaging, child-resistant and senior friendly closures, high visibility labels, and tamper-evident and anti-counterfeit accessories are also selected as products that will see increased sales.

The study looks at historical data and forecasts up to 2011 and 2016. It analyses the pharmaceutical packaging demand for six regions and 18 countries, taking into account market environment factors. It also profiles 34 global industry competitors focusing on their marketing, manufacturing and distribution strategies.

Filling In The Pores To Create A "Piano Finish"
Since ultimately all woodworking projects are judged by their finish, you may want to consider adding a touch of elegance to your own project by filling the pores of the wood. Filling the pores creates a finish that is as smooth as glass. No matter what you are making, if you are serious about woodworking, you will want to learn how to fill pores to create this lovely finish. Some species of wood have more pores of larger size than others. An example would be to compare Maple, which has very few and very small pores with Oak, which has larger pores in greater quantity. While Maple may not need to have the pores filled to create a nice finish, if you want that smooth finish with Oak, pore filling is a necessity.
