Is Asia Ready for the New Beer Packaging Technology and Latest PET Applications Directed to Replace Glass and Plastics?

Singapore (PRWEB) March 29, 2008 -- PET is on the roll with upward demand, higher growth and expanding application. Market remains positive with Asia continuing to be the cardinal lifeline vivaciously strengthening its stand globally. As reported in an ICIS Chemical Business article -- "PET Demand growth has continued to do better than GDP growth in all recent years as new PET applications are directed to replace other materials, chiefly glass and metal. PET solid-state resins are expected to grow by 7%/year, followed by polyester fibers and PET engineering resins at 5% and 4% respectively."

The onset of PET application in beer bottling in Asia has partly contributed to the increasing market demand for PET. There are various ways to improve barrier properties of a PET bottle, from spray coatings to utilising multilayer structures, making PET an indispensable choice in beverage packaging.
